This morning, we made the drive from Jaipur to the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve arriving around noon. We checked into our jungle resort, The Tigress Resort and Spa and had a wonderful traditional Indian lunch before going out for an afternoon Safari. The Rathambore National Park offers one of the best chances in the world to see Royal Bengal Tigers in the wild. Obviously, the park is best known for the Tigers, but is all home to Blue Bulls, Boar, Sloth Bears, Gray Langur Macaques, Spotted Deer and Black Face Monkeys. Other predators in the park include Leopards, Hyenas and Crocodiles. Today we were able to see most of the Deer and Antelope species, the Black Face Monkeys and a Tiger.

Here are some pictures of the wildlife we were able to see.

And here is some of the scenery we saw driving to and from the park today.

Tomorrow will be our last day in India. We will begin the day with a morning safari at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, and after lunch we’ll return to Jaipur where we fly to Mumbai and then on to the island of Mauritius to rejoin the Viking Neptune.
