Welcome to our 2023/2024 World Cruise Blog. We have three reasons for documenting our journey through this blog.
- We want to use this as a vehicle for friends and family to follow along.
- We hope to create a digital scrap book to document the cruise
- To provide helpful information and lessons learned for future world cruisers.
Blog organization:
If you are viewing the blog on a desktop or laptop computer the home page will look like this:

In the center of the screen there is a list of the most recent post clicking on one will take you to the post. The right side of the screen is the Blog’s Index, clicking on one of those will take you to the post for that topic. The archive button will take you to all of the post made for the month listed.
If you are viewing the blog on a phone the Index is at the bottom of the page, so you may have to scroll down to see it:

Category descriptions:
- Blog Introduction. The only post in this category is the one you are reading. It is designed to help you understand the blog structure and how to navigate through the posts.
- Viking Neptune. This category contains posts about the ship, and our itinerary. These posts will include information about our state room, Restaurants and activities on board the ship. This is also where we will post information about Viking ships that we think will be helpful to future world cruisers.
- Ports of Call. This category will cover the various places we visit during the cruise. My plan is to do at least one post for each port of call. Eleven of the ports we are visiting will be for multiple days.
- Pro-Hacks and Lessons Learned. This will be a list of miscellaneous things we learn along the way. Everything from best places to exchange currency to packing tips to best magnets for hanging things on our cabin wall. My intent is for this to be a running list in a single post. However, if we come across a topic that requires more than a few sentences we’ll do a separate post.
Comments. There will be a comment block at the bottom of each post, so feel free to send comments or ask questions. This is a first attempt at blogging, so we are open to your suggestions.
